Delaware Coalition to Promote Physical Activity
A public/private partnership through the Delaware Coalition to Promote Physical Activity was formed to address Healthy Lifestyle in DE. The Department of Health and Social Services chose the University of Delaware as the Prime in 2001. Barron Marketing Communications has been the subcontractor/vendor for any and all creative/marketing elements associated with the program, including its name, since its inception.
During the program cycle of 13 years, goals and delivery have changed based on evaluation results. Over these years Barron successfully introduced new strategies, along with new delivery systems, to continue to meet the objectives of the State. An example of this included a Statewide contest for high school students, to provide concepts for television advertising. This was the first virtual contest of its kind ever created and executed in Delaware. Five years ago social media was added. Based on the number of website visits…interest continues to grow. Our newest “WordPress” (mobile ready) website www.guads.org was launched August 25, 2014.
This is the longest running campaign in Delaware history.
